Job Summary
In this role, you will act as an effective liaison between small business members and the Company’s internal departments. The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for ensuring loan obligations are met in a timely manner, demonstrating empathy, and resolving problems swiftly. You will provide expert care while maintaining a positive attitude toward customers to foster positive experiences. As a fintech, we are looking for candidates who can adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment, are eager to take on new challenges, and who feel comfortable working with the unknown.
Qualifications
- Loan servicing and operations experience is a must.
- Foundational knowledge of commercial loan processes including interest accrual, payment processing and allocation.
- Critical thinking skills for analyzing problems and determining solutions quickly.
- Strong written and oral communication, as well as interpersonal abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Demonstrated patience and empathy when managing difficult conversations.
- Ability to handle a wide range of situations over the phone and email with tact and diplomacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an in-depth understanding of loan products and terms.
- Respond promptly to member inquiries within a 24-hour timeframe, providing clear and accurate information while upholding a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Demonstrate proficiency in identifying and escalating pertinent matters to the appropriate team member, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- Execute all loan servicing and administration activities in accordance with established policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and best practices.
- Conduct thorough customer and loan level maintenance in a systematic and meticulous manner, upholding accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor past due reports and execute necessary collection processes based on delinquency age while working with borrowers to understand the reasons for delinquencies to determine a path forward.
- Review and collection of required insurance documentation to ensure preservation of collateral.
- Execute assigned special projects with precision and diligence, contributing to the continuous improvement and efficiency of loan servicing operations.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and projects as needed.
