About Us: NEWITY is America’s source for small business capital, dedicated to providing access to SBA loan solutions. Achieving our vision requires more than ambition. It demands resilience, collaboration, accountability, professionalism, and a relentless drive to improve. Our culture moves fast, fosters excellence, and rewards those who lean in. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re energized by challenge, motivated by impact, and ready to grow alongside teammates who share your commitment, there’s no better place to build your career.
Job Summary: In this role, you will own data infrastructure work end to end: ingesting source data, transforming and modeling it in the warehouse, and getting clean datasets in front of Product and Analytics teams. You will take incoming requests, decide how to build them, ship the work, and keep the pipelines healthy in production. You will work independently while staying in close contact with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Analytics on features and reporting that support our lending platform and the 125,000+ businesses on it.
We are looking for someone who can move quickly without dropping quality, is comfortable across the full stack from ingestion through warehouse modeling to consumption, and is not waiting for someone else to define the problem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own pipeline and infrastructure work from intake through production
- Build and maintain ingestion and transformation pipelines from operational systems, third-party APIs, and event streams into the warehouse
- Turn product and business requirements into specifications and well-modeled datasets
- Write and maintain Terraform for the AWS resources your pipelines run on
- Use CI/CD to ship pipeline and infrastructure changes safely and often
- Build data quality checks, unit tests, and integration tests for the pipelines you own
- Use modern tooling, including AI assistants, to move faster on development, testing, and documentation
- Build datasets and reporting layers for product features, BI, and operational reporting
- Work with Product, Engineering, Operations, Sales, and Compliance so data solutions actually fit the downstream use case
- Write the runbooks and documentation that on-call teammates and stakeholders will rely on
- Watch your pipelines in production and fix issues before someone has to ask
- Keep up with what is changing in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, and fintech compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
- 3-5 years of professional data or backend engineering experience with a clear data focus
- Hands-on experience building batch and/or streaming pipelines that run in production
- Working knowledge of AWS data services (S3, RDS, Lambda, Glue, ECS, EventBridge, IAM)
- Familiarity with Terraform for managing AWS infrastructure
- Experience with CI/CD for data and application deployments
- Strong SQL and at least one general-purpose language (Python preferred)
- Experience with a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks
- Working understanding of dimensional modeling, ELT, and data quality basics
- Clear writing for runbooks, design notes, and PR or Slack communication
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with non-engineering partners
- Interest in fintech and the data-handling rules that come with it (preferred)
Benefits:
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Retirement plan with company match
- Paid time off and holidays
- $90,0000 – $135,000
