NEWITY is America’s source for small business capital, focused on helping entrepreneurs access the funds they need to thrive. We are seeking a Financial Analyst that is excited to help small businesses access capital through capturing available tax credits.
As part of our Business Incentives team, you will be responsible for performing tax credit calculations for our members and ensuring calculations are both accurate and consistent with IRS guidelines. You will be expected to develop a strong working knowledge of the Employee Retention Credit and related regulations, as well as other tax credits available to our member businesses. The ideal candidate will work with a high level of integrity and display an acute attention to detail. You will be part of a team tackling a high volume of applications in an environment that requires quick turnaround times.
Qualifications
- 1 – 2 years of finance, accounting, or related experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- High degree of intellectual curiosity and desire understand guidelines surrounding tax credit and specifics of credit calculation
- High level of integrity and commitment to following rules and guidelines
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Understanding of financial statements
- Financial services industry experience preferred
- Knowledge of US GAAP preferred
- BS/BA in accounting, finance, or related discipline
- Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take on challenges
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaborating in teams
Description & Responsibilities
- Prepare calculations to determine eligibility for tax credits as well and specific credit amounts
- Ensure calculations and applications are consistent with IRS guidelines
- Liaise with members and/or collaborate with document collection team to gather additional information as needed
- Answer member questions and support document collection team during calculation process
- Participate in ad hoc projects of Business Incentives team
Salary: $45,000 – $70,000 per year
